Privacy Policy

Open play runs on the organizer's own device. This page explains, feature by feature, what leaves that device, where it goes, who can see it and how long we keep it.

Last updated 2 November 2026. This policy takes effect on 2 November 2026.

Who we are

DinkPro (www.dinkpro.app) is a free pickleball open play app made by a small team. You can meet the team. In this policy "we" and "us" means the DinkPro team. For any privacy question or request, email kimex1989@gmail.com.

The short version

What we collect, feature by feature

Open play on the organizer's device

Sessions, player names, skill levels, scores, standings and any player photos the organizer takes are saved in the browser's own storage on that device. Logos and sponsor branding stay there too. Backup files and DUPR export files are only shared if the organizer chooses to share them. Players who open a results page keep a copy of it on their own phone.

Session summaries and organizer notifications

When the organizer's device is online, DinkPro sends a summary of each session to our database: the host name and session or venue name typed in setup, the game mode, the number of courts and players, game and waiting times, the app version, the device type, browser, operating system and time zone, and a random ID for the device. The summary also carries the checked-in roster (names, skill level, gender and games played), which we delete about a day after the session.

When a session or tournament starts or ends we also receive a short notice with the host name, session name, mode, player and court counts, the live link, the device type and browser, and the features used. A signed-in host's username is included. A finished tournament notice names the top three teams. These notices are kept as our operating records and summarized in reports emailed to the owner.

Go Live and player phones

When the host turns on Go Live (opening the big screen also turns it on), the board is copied to our database and sent to phones: player names, courts, the queue, scores and standings, and for tournaments any team pictures the host added. Anyone with the join code or QR code can view it. When the session ends, the results stay readable for 24 hours and are then deleted. For each phone that views a board we record a random viewer ID, the country and the device type.

QR self check-in

A player who checks in by QR code sends their name and, if they give it, a skill level. The host's device picks it up within seconds, and the request is deleted about 26 hours later.

Court scorers and the Remote

Scores sent from a court scorer's phone and commands sent from a linked Remote phone travel through a live channel to the host's device. They are not stored in our database. Remote messages are encrypted so only the linked devices can read them.

Player accounts (Ranked)

Player accounts are optional. If you create one, we hold:

Your email is never shown to other players. When you check in, the host who verifies you sees your registered name and photo. Other players can see your username, avatar or photo, first name, club, rank, rating, record and badges on ladders, leaderboards, live boards, the big screen and your profile. Your last name stays hidden unless you turn on showing your full name. "Show where I play" is on by default: the ladder can show that you are playing now and the session's venue name. You can turn it off in your profile. When you create an account, the owner receives a notice with your username and avatar.

Feedback

Feedback you send in the app is stored with its category, your message, any name or contact you add, the app version and a random device ID. You can also send it by email from your own mail app instead.

Usage, errors and visits

The app sends short usage events, speed measurements and error reports with a random device ID and the app version. A visit counter records a random device ID, the organizer name entered on that device, and the number and dates of visits.

Country and IP address

Our database stores a two-letter country code worked out from your connection, not your IP address. Our hosting and service providers process IP addresses to deliver the service and to stop abuse, under their own policies.

Cookies and storage on your device

DinkPro does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The browser's storage holds your sessions, settings, a random device ID and, if you sign in, your sign-in token. DinkPro sets cookies only for its private admin area. Embedded services such as Cloudflare Turnstile and Streamable videos may set their own.

Why we use it

Who processes it for us

Where it is stored

Our database (Supabase) and our server code (Vercel) run in Seoul, South Korea. This means information sent to DinkPro leaves the Philippines, Australia or wherever you are. Notices and reports also pass through the n8n server at Hostinger and the owner's Gmail account.

Seeing, correcting and deleting your information

Children

DinkPro is not directed at children under 13, and player accounts are not meant for them. Hosts can add players to a session by name. If you are a parent or guardian and a child's information is in DinkPro, email kimex1989@gmail.com and we will remove it.

Privacy laws we follow

We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 and with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012. This is our aim, not a certification.

Changes to this policy

When DinkPro starts collecting, keeping or sharing something new, we update this page and the date at the top. Please also read our terms of use.
